Dino Chiesas drivers at the Cik-Fia International Super Cup
Sarno hosts the 2013 International KF Super Cup and round 1 of the KFJ World Championship.

Lance Stroll KF
FATAL FINAL
The Canadian is on top of the standings basically all weekend long. In Fridays  qualyings, on the dry, he misses pole position by just 6 thousands of a second. In the heats on Saturday and Sunday morning  (under the rain), Stroll then confirms the excellent performance displayed in timed practice, collecting two fourth places and a victory. Unfortunately, the outside lane start in the prefinal (from second on grid) takes a serious toll on him, since he is literally pushed off track by a rival at the second corner of lap one and slides down seven positions. He then manages to climb back up and is sixth at the start of the final. Here, he is a victim a new contact on the first lap that damages his kart: Lance continues to race despite the technical problems, but his title hopes are up in smoke. He ends 12th. Dino Chiesas comment: "Accidents happen, they are part of racing. Its a shame though, because he  was very fast the whole time, on the wet as on the dry, and his weekend was overall a good one" .

Tom Joyner KF
ALWAYS IN THE TOP 10
English driver Tom Joyner is one of the main protagonists  of the weekend, always on the high end of the standings. He qualifies 4th and is 6th on grid for the start of the prefinal. Here he ends 11th after a tough race, but in the final he gets back up with an excellent climb up to 6th place. His best lap in the race perfectly in line with that of the winner is a clear sign of the great potential Joyner had to win the title, if only he hadnt had to start from mid-grid. "He made good times, but with a single race assigning points even a small mishap can harm a result built over a weeks time. He was unlucky.

Esteban Jos Fernandez KF
GOOD DEBUT
The young Argentinian does well at his first ever KF race. His weekend starts on an uncertain note, as to be expected from a debut on such a prestigious stage: in the qualifyings he has a mechanical issue on the first lap and places 25th, then in the heats he has a nit of a tough time (due to the rain). Then, lap after lap, Fernandez starts to gain confidence and after closing the prefinal in 21st place, in the final he does a great climb up to 16th. "It was a new experience for him. His trip to Italy was an award by the Argentine federation and this was the very first KF race of his life. For a debut performance, Id say he did great."

Martijn Van Leeuwen KFJ
RACE ON THE RISE
The Dutch driver  proves he is competitive  with a good start a d a good finish of the qualification phase  (14th), which earns him the right to access the final. Here he battles with determination, gains ground, and closes 25th . "His weekend was a bit uphill, but I think he did well. He probably wouldve done even better if he had done the practice runs the week before the event," says Dino Chiesa.

David Beckmann KFJ
FINAL RECOVERY
The German seems to be looking for the conditions for the best performance all weekend long. He does well in his first two qualification heats (7th and 8th), but in the others he struggles a bit and slides down. In the prefinal he starts from 25th on grid and is forced to work his way up. In the final, however, he gets fierce and pulls a great 9-place recovery, closing 16th. He didnt attend the practice sessions the week prior to the event and maybe this hurt him a little, explains Dino Chiesa.
